No Tapwave Titles at Palmgear
When PalmGear announced in a press article they will be selling Zodiac games through their webstore, they sort of made us believe the international issue would be solved and games would become available worldwide. Today i've found out that's not the case. I've got some info from Mead Lawson, Director of Content & Product Management of PalmGear:
"The Tapwave store (powered by PalmGear) is targeting to open sometime in March. The store will be stocked with Tapwave compatible games and other various applications. The software titles won't be "Tapwave" titles, but 3rd party applications that have been tested for compatibility on their handheld devices. Tapwave "tuned" applications (those enhanced expressly for the Zodiac handhelds) will continue to be sold on Tapwave's current store."
It seems like not much is changing: The mentioned 3rd party applications are already easily obtainable for everyone, while games like Spyhunter, Firehammer, Doom II, Duke Nukem and THPS remain out of reach for international Zodiac owners.

Brando case
They seem to work fast at Honkongs post offices. I ordered the Brando Zodiac case on thursday, it arrived the following tuesday.
It comes in a very nice box as you can see on the picture. It feels and smells like leather. The Zodiac is not strapped in it, you have to push it in. While pushing the joystick was in the way and received an extreme amount of pressure, which kinda made me worry.
Once it's placed it sits real comfortable. The upperflap seems to be metal and the soft innerflap, that goes over the display, makes it that all buttons are well protected and have space. You can now safely carry your Z in your back pocket.
Compared with the sportscase (regular): both are equally thick. The sportcase obviously is a travelcase which offers better protection from dirt, while Brando is definitely an on-the-go case that protects the body and fits perfect in (back)pockets.

pros
- Nice leather
- Magnet lock, closes instantly with a nice click
- Zodiac well protected, including the joystick
cons
- no protection from dirt
- Because its not strapped it feels like the Z can fall out, but taken the amount of effort it takes to get push it inside that's unlikely.
- The Z's power button becomes difficult to reach

International sale of Tapwave software?
In a press realease on Tapland, it is announced that Tapwave and Palmgear will be parnters in terms of software. This means that Palmgear will be selling software of Tapwave. Software on Palmgear is internationally available, so let's hope this also will be the case with Tapwave games.
PalmGear, Inc, the world's largest and longest running Palm OS(R)-based consumer marketplace, and Tapwave, creator of the Tapwave Zodiac entertainment console, today announced a partnership to launch an online store that will feature some of the best applications, game titles and ebooks available on the Palm OS(R) platform. This online store, launching in March, will only feature Tapwave "Ready" titles that have passed 3rd party quality testing. This new site will build upon the existing catalog of premier "Certified" and "Tuned" game titles that are currently featured and available for the Zodiac on Tapwave's web site.

Tapwave Usergroup Meeting on March 12 2004
On March 12 the first "Tapwave Usergroup Meeting" will take place in Sunnyville, Californie. On this event users will get the possebility to use the multiplayer in games, but there will also be a presentation done by Byron Connel, founder of Tapwave. There will also be time to ask questions. Hopefully this will bring us some answers about the selling-figures, the joystick problem and why Tapwave doesn't communicate with their customers. Until March there is time to come up with questions. HHG.nl will keep you updated on this event!
